The Challenge
A large water utility company in the UK required a solution to monitor pipe network and employ proactive maintenance measures for water supply lines. It was of utmost importance for them to ensure that the pipe distribution network is monitored & alerts for certain thresholds, so they required an effective IIoT system in place.
The client wanted to ensure that the overall reliability and efficiency is improved along with reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
The Strategy
The project began with a proof of concept (POC) implemented on small pipe sections to measure the strain generated by water flow. Working with a hardware company for installation and sensor calibrations, Bandgi Technologies expected to platform for data ingestion and visualization to track live sensor readings for pressure.
Bandgi Technologies developed a dashboard with live and historical data that was made available to the client for further analysis. Also, AWS ML Stack was applied as a part of the overall solution to impactful predict system's health.

The water utility company was now able to monitor the active water systems and detect any strain that could lead to pipe bursts or leaks. The data dashboards enabled the company to proactively address any issues before they become major problems.
